We made these quick and easy bird feeders!
Over the years we have made a half dozen different kinds...and these are my favorite!
1 1/2 c. bird seed (We bought ours at walmart)
1/2 c. water
2 small envelopes of knox gelatine
cook the water and gelatine until the gelatine is dissolved....then let it cool for just 1 min.
Add the bird seed...if needed add extra if there is extra liquid at bottom!
Lay cookie cutters on wax paper....fill half way with bird seed mixture...lay twine or string ...forming a loop...fill the rest of the way with bird seed mixture...and then let cool!

I made my kiddos their own "bird seed" snack!
chex mix
reese's pieces
marshmallows
gold fish
teddy grahams

Hooray for birds! Love your feeders and your snack!
Oh, I LOVE this idea. We've never made anything other than the peanut butter covered pine cones. My kids would have a blast with these. Our yard is FILLED with cardinals this year. Thanks for the fun idea. Wish you were here to watch the birds with us.
Hi Sherri! Thanks so much for leaving all the sweet comments on my blog today! I'd love to be your neighbor! You are amazing! Such wonderful ideas, beautiful posts, and homeschooling 5 kiddos! Wow! Love these birdfeeders! We made some in December to go along with the book Night Tree by Eve Bunting and also gave some as gifts to grandparents who love bird watching! I think it will become a tradition for us!
I love the people snack! We haven't made treats for the birds since last year, I have to do it soon.
Those bird feeders look like so much fun. My girls would love it, I think. Especially if I made them their own bird feeder snack, too. THanks for sharing!
This is amazing! How cool to be a family of bird watchers. Fun, fun, fun!! LOVE the bird feeders - so cute.
