Or worse....when you find out your daughters arm has been broken for a week???
These are moments when I just stop and cry!
In the middle of chaotic life....it is easy for moms to feel like they are failing!
There is no handbook, and how could there be...with each and every kids being so uniquely different???
A few months back....my oldest, Brooke, brought me a list of things that she was going to do....when she was a mom!
As I read over the list, I was very impressed....she had so many GREAT ideas!
I told her I would like to implement most of these into our home!
She immediately answered:
"NO"
I asked her ..."Why would her kids like these rules, if she wouldn't like them?"
"Well, Mom, I like you just like you are! Your my mom and I love you! I don't want you to change. I don't want you to be me. My kids are going to love me as their mom...but you are my mom, and your PERFECT!"
To All MOMS!
Your doing a great job!
Don't compare yourselves to others!
Your PERFECT just the way you are!!!!

So very true!
And, I broke my hand for a week before my mom noticed. =)
Absolutely!
You are Perfect just the way you are... me on the other hand I missed that boat, I think I did all my Mothering growing up and now there is NOTHING left!!! Last night Madyson said in a sad voice "Your never going to die, right Mom, cuz what will happen to you" I said your right, I am not planning on it, but if anything ever did happen to us you would be ok, because you would go and live with Sherri, or someone that we have arranged for you to be with, you wouldn't just be left here. But there isn't any reason to even think of that sweet heart because we aren't going any were. Well she thought about that for a minute, literally a minute, then she said "well you know it could happen, like your could be driving in the car and you could go over the side and you and Dad...you know, would we go live with Sherri then, cuz I would be ok with that.
Any way that is one of many conversations on how she would love it if you were her Mom.
So hats off to you! And is that Chelsea who broke her arm, poor thing! What happened?
That is the sweetest comment. That must make you so incredibly happy to get an rmation ike that om oneo yur own children.
We all have those moments... a lot! You are an amazing Mom with amazing children. Thanks for encouragement!
P.S. One of my "mom moments" that haunts me is when a bat was in Grace's room and she woke up screaming, I was the first one in her room, saw the bat, and ran out...without her! So much for acting in your child's best interest in the heat of the moment!
You're Brookie is one wise girl. And she'll be an amazing mom because she's learned to love well from an amazing mom :)
Oh I laughed at the handfull of gram crackers.
The photo of Brady is hilarious. We see that a lot around our parts too.
Poor Chelsea!! I hope she is feeling okay.
Brooke, what can I say about her amazingness? She's an awesome chica, just like her mama.
What a sweet thing for your daughter to tell you. It's not always easy being a mom.
