Day 15- Love is honorable!

Live with your wives in an understanding way...and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life.
-1 Peter 3:7

Today's Dare:
Choose a way to show honor and respect to your spouse that is above your normal routine. It may be holding the door for her. It might be putting his clothes away for him. It may be the way you listen and speak in your communication. Show your mate that he or she is highly esteemed in your eye!

My Thoughts:
I don't think in most house holds Pooh is considered honorable.
In our house Pooh is more precious than my wedding dress!

At my wedding, Mark's brother gave a speech to us...I wish I could tell you word for word...but instead I'll give you the main idea. He held a cloth pooh puppet, and he explained that Mark had one of those when he was young. He loved his pooh, he took it every where with him, he protected it from any harm and would rescue in all cases. Every night he made sure he had his "pooh" to sleep with. As long as he had his pooh he was safe, and could sleep easier, play harder, and live happier.
He encouraged us as a newly married couple to be "pooh"! He told Mark that he should treat me like he treated pooh...or better =)! He should hold me close to his heart and protect me. And he challenged me to love Mark and take care of his needs like pooh did while he was young!

We have many poohs in our household! All which the kids know represent LOVE and RESPECT!
Last year for Mark's birthday, Chelsea bought him a pooh bear! And every night..almost...she brings him his pooh bear to sleep with! He always thanks her, set it to the side, and holds ME! I am his "POOH" now!

What a beautiful story! My husband, Tony had a pooh bear also. Each of our boys got a special pooh bear of their own. I took a picture of each of them holding their own pooh and daddy's pooh too! My children love to sing the Winnie the Pooh song and read the stories. Great things come from Pooh!

That's a beautiful story, Sherri!!! I need to do my post for today still. I'm really having fun doing this, even if Brad and I already do a lot of what this dare asks. I hope we can be an inspiring example for others.

I agree, you guys are awesome. Nancy is my Pooh, and I am her Tigger. She has no idea where I will bounce to next. :)

I will do some honor and report back.

The library has this book in an audio format. I think I'm going to pick it up for my trip to Des Moines tomorrow. I love all the 'dares' you post about! As always, thanks for sharing Sherri!

Here is my report back. I did change my ways a little, and helped Nancy a little more around the house. To me she appeared to appreciate it. Nancy is fun to be around, and I enjoyed the little more time together that we had.
