For week two we studied yellow and the letter A. ( I got the idea of the letter of the week from the blog "no time for flash cards") The kids have loved it so far. This is my first time doing a scheduled preshool with my kids. The older girls were both old enough to go to preschool, but Luke missed it by one month. I am so glad he did, I wish I would have done this with my first two. He is learning so much, but I think the best part is that 3 days a week for 2-3 hours he has my undivided attention. They both really look forward to this time!!!!

Here is Lukes letter A after he colored it. I feel so bad that I have to cut out all those cute animals. But it is helping him understand the difference between in the A and out of the A.

He is just starting to learn to cut, I ended up cutting it out for him. He gave it a good try!

There they are....our little Aliens.

I often have him practice on the white board rather than in a workbook, because he seems to enjoy it more. This was so cute though, I wrote a small "a" to demonstrate how....and he immediately said I see it, it is a bird....and with in 30 seconds he had turned my "a"(it is the left eye) into his little creature.
We have also been learning the color "yellow", so for our alien cupcakes, we used yellow frosting.

The last day of "A" week we had fun with alligator hats.

He is learning to write his name.

That is Lukes "A" and of course an alligator.

We also drew self portraits. Now Luke likes to draw animals, not people. so when I told him to draw a picture of himself he was rather frustrated. He asked "why cant I draw animals?" I explained that today we were going to draw just ourselves, a picture of what he thinks "Luke " looks like.
Well when he was done he had Luke with a monkey, blue bird, red bird, yellow bird, purple bird, and an alien! It is really cute!
