Forhis 2 month birthday we cleaned out the outside fridge. Boy oh Boy did it need it. It was filthy!! All the kids worked together to get it sparkling clean.

And there it is...just like new!

Letter of the week- M

Preschool is just getting more fun all the time! Luke loves it and is so excited everyday to learn. This week we did M. He has waited patiently for M...his favorite animal....Monkey! Infact, he is my little monkey, most every where we go Luke walks or runs like a monkey.

We have started to play memory, and he has improved leaps and bounds. Other games that he enjoys are "funny faces", "snakes", and file folders.

8 weeks

Wow! Where did the time go? Brady is 8 weeks old, and he is the best baby ever. All my babies have been super easy, but they actually get easier with each one and Brady is definately the topping on the cake. I wish you could see his feet in this picture, my friend sent me the cutes outfit and it cam with little vans. They are a conversation starter where ever we go!

THANKS PAULA!!!

Chelsea's Soccer

This is Chelsea's first year of soccer and she is loving it! It is a perfect season, it lasts 7 weeks, so just long enough for them to really have fun and be excited for next year.

We brought soccer ball cookies when it was our treat day!

Renaissance Festival

This is my first time to a renaissance festival and I loved it. The kids want to go again next year. We decided to go on the day that they were doing a pirate theme. Infact, we found out that Sept. 19th is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. How fun is that a day to kick in a little Sassy attitude.

Miranda volunteered for the magic show and she did a great job. She definately belongs on stage!!!
The kids made Viking necklaces.
Ground wheat and ate the bread made from the wheat.

They learned what happened in the old days when you broke the law.
This is our jousting champion...Sir Judea....although he did not win this time.
They learned how to shoot with a bow and arrow.

This is Annika's first time she would actually get on a horse, or pony. This is a very small pony and she loved it.
Luke and Annika took a carriage ride.
We talked to real pirates with real parrots who gave us pirate gear!

Annika wore her eye patch like that for at least an hour and refused to let me help her.
And of course the famous TURKEY LEGS!

They dug for treasure ....
and ate the mud.
We bought these old fashion bottles filled with root beer.

We couldn't leave without seeing the one legged pirate

Letter of the week - E

E is for Elephant! We had another great week of preschool, I am loving it and so are the kids. Of course they made their own elephants!!!!

Couple contest!

Okay I don't have a picture for this post...because I am already putting myself out there just telling everyone that I am going to do this. Of course I hope that it will give me some accountability. Mark and I are having a contest to see who can loose 3olbs first. Now I know it may come as a surprise, but I am rather competitve and even though I want him to succeed, I WANT TO WIN!! So I decided to Blog about it and keep everyone up dated. I really should do a before and after picture, but YUCK, who really wants to see that. So if you are reading this blog then it automatically makes you on my side. =) I hope! If you want to jump on board...then lets do it...there's no better time to start then right now!

It is difficult to figure out how to run with 5 young kids and one only 7 weeks old. So I have decided to run around my yard...and the neighborhood! Brady is my main concern, he is so young and I don't want anything to happen to him. So I have my sweet neighbor watch him, and the other kids come in the yard with me. So far it has worked out fine...a little boring, but doable. The kids stop me a lot, so it is hard to get a "non stop" run in. However, I'll be honest, I am not ready for much, so it gives me a much needed break.

Yesterday Annika fell on the bricks and so that ended my fun.
I think Brady is enjoying himself. There is no one else who could take better care of him for me.

Preschool - Week 2

For week two we studied yellow and the letter A. ( I got the idea of the letter of the week from the blog "no time for flash cards") The kids have loved it so far. This is my first time doing a scheduled preshool with my kids. The older girls were both old enough to go to preschool, but Luke missed it by one month. I am so glad he did, I wish I would have done this with my first two. He is learning so much, but I think the best part is that 3 days a week for 2-3 hours he has my undivided attention. They both really look forward to this time!!!!

Here is Lukes letter A after he colored it. I feel so bad that I have to cut out all those cute animals. But it is helping him understand the difference between in the A and out of the A.

He is just starting to learn to cut, I ended up cutting it out for him. He gave it a good try!
There they are....our little Aliens.
I often have him practice on the white board rather than in a workbook, because he seems to enjoy it more. This was so cute though, I wrote a small "a" to demonstrate how....and he immediately said I see it, it is a bird....and with in 30 seconds he had turned my "a"(it is the left eye) into his little creature.

We have also been learning the color "yellow", so for our alien cupcakes, we used yellow frosting.

The last day of "A" week we had fun with alligator hats.
He is learning to write his name.
That is Lukes "A" and of course an alligator.
We also drew self portraits. Now Luke likes to draw animals, not people. so when I told him to draw a picture of himself he was rather frustrated. He asked "why cant I draw animals?" I explained that today we were going to draw just ourselves, a picture of what he thinks "Luke " looks like.

Well when he was done he had Luke with a monkey, blue bird, red bird, yellow bird, purple bird, and an alien! It is really cute!
