April Fools !!!

You can't start the April Fool's Day off without blue milk. This turned out way better than expected. Chelsea poured the milk and I was sitting there taking pictures and she says "The milk is blue!"
"Really mom it's blue" I am laughing and she is freaking out!

Then Brooke pours her milk and she too says "Mom we are not joking, the milk is seriously blue, we are not doing an April Fools joke."
By now I am laughing harder and just taking pictures. Finally at the same time they say "OH! Mom turned the milk blue."
Luke wasn't sure if he wanted to eat his cereal. Although he asked for "blue milk" the rest of the day.
For after school snack I put gummy worms in the apples.
After school the girls changed their clothes to backwards and they put their hair crazy, because we were going to have a backwards dinner.
We had pie for the main course. Chelsea saw me cutting up the potatoes, so she was so excited because she new what kind of pie it was. APPLE! She thought the potatoes were apples. (This pie was super easy to make and absolutely delicious, you can find the recipe on one of my favorite blogs... "mytimetoblossom".
I had them close their eyes while I dished up the desert (which we had first) and it was so funny to see their expressions as they opened to chicken pot pie. They were shocked to say the least, and disappointed. They were hoping for some serious sugar. Chelsea was especially shocked because she was 100% sure that she had seen the ingredience. Infact, in this picture she has not seen the pie yet and she is sayin "I knew it was...." and then she looked down and never finished her sentence.
For dessert we had spaghetti and meatballs. Once again Chelsea was full and just wanted dessert. She was so fun today, because she fell for everything, even after we say "April Fools", she still didn't get it. (The idea for these cupcakes are from the book "Hello Cupcakes", a must have for all moms.)
We made the cupcakes from a box, yellow cake mix but used 4 eggs, and 1 c. buttermilk, and the called for oil.
The noodles are just a can of vanilla frosting with 1/2 tsp. of unsweetened cocoa powder and a few drops of yellow food coloring, then you frost the cupcakes and put the remaining frosting in a ziplock bag, cut a small hole and then noodle away. Sauce is low sugar strawberry jam, it has great color. And the meat balls are unwrapped chocolates.
Brooke enjoying a noodle. (frosting)
Chelsea just realizing that the meatball on the cupcake is chocolate. Even after she knew it was a cupcake she still thought it was tomatoe sauce and meatballs.
Luke is saying "What is this?" He never would eat it.
It only took Annika one lick to know she liked it and she dug right in!

As for the unpictured April Fools jokes of the day.

In the morning Mark came running out yelling "get out, Fire!" I know this is the oldest joke in the book, but it got me. I can not believe I fell for it. Here I was taking pictures of blue milk and then I fell for the oldest joke. But I picked Luke up and ran outside with the girls. Just as I started to leave the house I realized it was a joke, but my heart was racing like never before.

I switched the girls snacks that they took to school. They took Oreo's and I opened it and put in Nutter Butter. Brooke came home and thought it was funny. Chelsea did not get it and thought that it just came that way.

Final joke for the day. Mark said he was taking them all down to the car lot to detail cars and took them to see "Monsters and Aliens" instead.

All in All it was a GREAT day and I had a blast planning it!
